Separate Crashes Kill Two Countians
Two persons were killed on county roads in separate crashes Thursday night and early Friday.
...Robert Wilbert Trout, 32, Belmont Road, Paradise R1. He was found dead, pinned by his overturned car in Paradise Township.
...Trooper Jay Musser, Lancaster state police, reported that Trout was driving his car west along a deserted stretch of White Oak Road, just east of Mt. Pleasant Road, Thursday about 10:30 p.m. when the accident occurred.
Musser reported that the right wheels dropped off the two-inch-high edge of the roadway, and Trout lost control.
The vehicle, he said, slid back onto the roadway, crossed the roadway and went into a clockwise spin.
The car, Musser reported, then overturned and smashed into an embankment. It then slid another 34 feet on its side.
Musser said Trout was partially ejected from the vehicle, with his torso out of the car's open window. He was crushed by the weight of the car.
Trout was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:45 p.m. by a deputy coroner, Dr. Paul W. Herr. He said Trout died almost instantly of severe internal injuries.
...Trout was the husband of Lonnie Walters Trout.
Born in Lancaster, he was a son of Mrs. Edna Summers Trout of Paradise R1, and the late Marlin F. Trout.
He was employed as a carpenter at Permutit Co., Inc. in Lancaster.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by the following children: Robert W., Jr., Barbara Ann, Heather Lynn, Casandra Lee and Rodney Robert, all at home.
Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Dorothy K., wife of Harold Rhoades, Sara, wife of Nelson Sears, both of Lancaster, Victor, Gordonville, Rhonda, wife of Ralph Wiker, Quarryville, and Arthur, Donald and Dale, all at home; and a paternal grandmother, Mrs. Susie Trout, Mount Pleasant Home, Manheim.
