FRED L. CHAPPELL, 82, of Bartlett, formerly of Drummonds , Tenn., died Sunday at Methodist Hospital North after a long illness. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Munford (Tenn.) Funeral Home with burial in Poplar Grove Cemetery in Drummonds. He was a member of Quito United Methodist Church. Chappell, the husband of Virgie Ferguson Chappell, also leaves three daughters, Mrs. Viva Syde of Millington, Mrs. Gene Shelton and Miss Lisa Chappell, both of Bartlett; five sisters, Mrs. Cena Bell Stone of Dyersburg, Mrs. Jettie Gamblin of West Plains, Mo., Mrs. Alva Stevens of Osceola, Ark., Mrs. Elizabeth Osborne of Arlington and Mrs. Izetta Embry of Drummonds ; a brother, Reese Chappell of Millington, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
