Arlene E. Flick, 87, of Olney, died at 4:50 p.m. Sunday, December 21, 2003 at Evergreen Hospice, Kirkland, Wash.

She was born Jan. 14, 1916 at Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Cyril Jerome and Mabel Skein Hovey.

She married Howard Flick in 1943. He died June 3, 1958.

She was a retired teacher at East Richland High School in Olney. She was affiliated with Trinity Lutheran Church and St. Paul United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Richland County Retired Teachers Association; Beta Sigma Phi; was an avid bridge player and member of the Clio Club and Garden Club. She was a graduate of Carthage College and belonged to the Carthage College Alumni Association.

Survivors include a daughter, Nancy (Robert) Uhlmansiek, Woodinville, Wash.; a son, Bill (Mary) Flick, Bloomington; three sisters, Pauline Chaplin, Lexington, Ky.; Mary Chaplin, Winter Haven, Fla.; and Carolyn Bymes, East Moline; and four grandchildren, Amy, Kathryn and Laura Uhlmansiek and Justin Flick.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother Jerry Hovey.
