KIRKSVILLE CYCLONE.
THE LIST OF DEAD FIGURES UP TO THIRTY-EIGHT.
Hundreds of Homes Completey Destroyed.
Kirksville, Mo., April 29.—The path of the storm yesterday morning, were it not that one is con stantly reminded of the horror of the event, would in some places seem grotesque. From the branches of nearly every tree that was left stand ing there fluttered some form of wear ing apparel. Petticoats, red flannel underskirts, hair mattresses and spring mattress and almost everything found in homes was there. All these materials were there Thursday night as well as yesterday, but no one noticed them, so intent were the peo ple upon their work. They did notice, however, the dead body of Mrs. John Mahaffey lodged between the forks of two large limbs.
