Burial was in the Melton family cemetery here under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Winnfield.
Mrs. Melton died Monday night, December 25, 1972 in a local hospital following a brief illness.
She was the wife of the late Bud Melton of Packton.
Survivors include one son, William Jack Melton, Beeville, Tx.; two daughters, Mrs. Laura Harkins and Mrs. Maxine Hale, both of Winnfield; one brother, P. D. Howell, Winnfield; three sisters, Mrs. Voila Melton, Georgetown, Mrs. Alma Walton and Mrs. Grace Rosenblath both of Shreveport.
Pallbearers included Jim Melton, Rev. Harry Foockle, Mike Melton, Kenneth Melton, Allen Hale and Lynn Melton.
