Funeral services were held Wednesday at Liberty Chapel near Williana, La., for Mrs. R. F. Howell, 84, who died at her home near Packton Monday morning.

Mrs. Howell, the former Fannie Hooper, moved to Winn Parish from Tennessee a number of years ago. She had been in ill health for ten months prior to her death.

Surviving are seven daughters, Mrs. Sadie Warren, Mrs. Ivy Melton, Mrs. Vollie Melton, all of Packton; Mrs. Ed Sweat of Georgetown, La., Mrs. F. L. Rosenblath of Shreveport, Mrs. Ed Melton of Winnfield, and Mrs. John W. Garland of Minden; and four sons, Finlay [sic Finley] and DeSoto Howell of Texas, Huey Howell of Cotton Valley, La., and P. D. Howell of Packton.

She was the great-grandaunt of Karla Faye Tucker.
