Thomas Jarvis was the son of John and Sarah Jarvis. John, the Revolutionary War veteran, is buried at the Fisher Cemetery on Murphy's Creek, Weston, Lewis Co., WV.

Thomas Jarvis and Alsie (Alsey/Alsa) B. Connolly Jarvis were married in Lewis Co., VA(WV) 25 Dec 1822 by Rev. John Mitchell. [The marriage document posted at right is from my Ancestry tree]. They were proprietors of large land holdings in Calhoun Co., WV. where they raised their family of 13 children there. After the Civil War they moved to Elk Hills (Crede), Kanawha Co., WV and settled along the Elk River where their extensive land acreage became known as Jarvis Bottom.

Their simple TS does not give any dates, only his name as Thomas Jarvis and hers as Alsie B. Jarvis.
He DID NOT have a middle name [or F. or Figgins] that people are using as a middle name. An initial or middle name does not appear for him in any document I've searched.....

Shortly after the Civil War, they sold their Calhoun property and moved to Kanawha County , WV. Their holdings, near present day Big Chimney, WV were referred to as “The Jarvis Bottom.”
