Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Kleinsmith Funeral Home for Emerson Troxel, who died Monday morning at the Parkview Home, Frankfort, of a heart ailment. Mr. Troxel, a retired farmer, was 84 years of age.

He was born in Clinton county, August 4, 1872, a son of Allen J. and Louisa Troxel. In 1895 he married Margaret E. Lewis, who died in 1921.

Surviving are three sons, Artus and Charles, both of Indianapolis, and Loyal of Lafayette; two daughters, Mrs. Mabel Hopper of Anderson, and Mrs. Edna Ruch of Frankfort route 1 , and three sisters, Mrs. Cora Metzger of Rossville route 1, Mrs. Roy Krammes of Frankfort and Mrs. Pearl Neher of Los Angeles, Calif. Other survivors are 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

One son, Carl Troxel, preceded him in death in 1945.

The Rev. J. E. Westermeyer officiated, and burial was in the Fair Haven cemetery.
