Our "favorite" Afton passed away on July 30, 2010. She resided at 141 North Davis Boulevard (1100 East) in Bountiful, Utah at the time of her death.

She was born January 12, 1935 in Murray, Utah to Frances Marion and Hazel Fowlks Wood, child eight of fifteen.

She was a compassionate friend and wife to Victor Henry Adams for fifty-nine years who passed away just three months before her. She was the matriarch over seven children, nineteen grandchildren, and five 1/2 great-grandchildren, and an ever growing clan that was adopted into the family.

There was nothing she loved more than spending time with her family. She enjoyed the large family gatherings, watching her boys succeed, shopping with her daughters, playing with her grandchildren, chatting with her sisters, and cooking.

She was a lady who sometimes forgot to give to herself as she cared for others and made them feel special by always calling them her "favorite". She used her many talents to bless the lives of all she met. She was a peacemaker and encouraged everyone to love one another. She practiced and taught "love without limits" by demonstration and generosity.

She was a beautiful and graceful woman, optimistic, friendly, honest, and authentic. She was the glue that held it all together and her loss leaves a hole that can never be filled. She was smart, loving, generous, kind and thoughtful. We are all heartbroken to see her taken from us, but celebrate the remarkable life she lived and the new journey that is before her. This beautiful woman will be remembered and missed by everyone who knew her.

Survived by her children: Victor M. (Carolanne) Adams, Eddie (Rise) Adams, Patricia Cozzens, Glen Adams, Paul (Paige) Adams, Bona (Randy) Rowsell, Claudia (Bob) Taylor; her brothers, sisters, and in-laws, Bill Wood, Lila Hampton, Illeane (Jerry) Dennis, Jean (Dick) Mackay, Veone (Rich) Boyington, Raymond (Linda) Wood, Roland (Linda) Wood, Art Myers, Myron (Marie) Adams, Alan Adams, Linda (Roe) Esplin, Joanie Adams. Preceded in death by her parents, Francis Marion and Hazel Fowlks Wood, Victor C. and Vilma V. Adams; her brothers, sisters, and in-laws, Bob (Beverly) Wood, Joyce (Duane) Gardner, Lucy (Walt) Frear, Preston Wood, Keith Wood, Marion Wood, Jr., Ora May, David Adams, Joe Adams, Dick Hampton, and Carmon Adams.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 6, 2010 at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, where a visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Friday morning from 9:00-9:45 a.m. prior to the services.
