Mary Ann Williams was the eldest child of Albert Gallatin Williams (1807-1869) and his wife, Ellen Mitchell Owens Williams (1818-1897). She was born in 1836 in Green County, Kentucky. In the fall of 1838, she moved with her parents from Kentucky to Clinton (now called Old Clinton or Northfork), Monroe County, Missouri. On September 28, 1854 she married Reuben Walker Lasley in Monroe County. Later that same fall, she and her new husband moved with her parents across the state to Weston, Platte County, Missouri. On April 2, 1856 she died as a result of child birth. The child died as well.

She and her unnamed infant were buried on her parents' farm, Sunnyside, three miles outside of Weston. Later, the section of the farm where she and her child had been buried was sold and renamed Breezy Park Farm. Originally buried with a headstone, the headstone was removed by a later owner of the property. Due to this, her family erected a marker in Laurel Hill Cemetery to honor her memory.
