Funeral services, conducted by Rev. M. G. Vance of North Star and Rev. Nye Bond of Palmer, were held last Friday for Mrs. Thomas Sharman who passed away early Wednesday morning of last week at Coolidge Hospital following a long illness.

Bertha Adeline Cantral, daughter of John and Ellen Cantral was born January 7, 1873, in Grundy County Iowa and departed this life in Palmer Nebraska November 17, 1943 aged 70 yeas 10 months and 10 days. She became a member of the United Brethern church at an early age and later joined the Evangelical church. She had been an earnest and faithful Christian for many years and was active in Missionary and Ladies Aid work.

She was united in marriage to John Rice in Montgomery County Iowa. To this union three children were born: Bessie E., Archie H. and Harold C. Mr. Rice passed away in the fall of 1905. She moved to Nance County, Nebraska in 1907.

She was united in marriage to Thomas Sharman April 2, 1908 at Fullerton, Nebraska. To this union one child was born, Richard.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband; three sons, Archie of Chicago, Illinois, Harold and Richard of Palmer, Nebraska; a daughter, Mrs. Bessie Weeks of Santa Maria, California; one step daughter, Mrs. E. C. Fuller, Omaha, Nebraska; a stepson, I. E. Rice, also of Omaha; one brother, Charles Cantral of Palmer, Nebraska, a sister, Mrs. C. L. Miller of Meridian, Idaho; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild and many other relatives and friends.

Her pastor paid Mrs. Sharman this tribute: "She was a faithful and devoted Christian and will long be remembered for her faithfulness and fidelity to Christ and the Church. Her patience in suffering was a fine example of Christian trust and fortitude, for her death came as a sweet and welcome release from suffering. We rejoice with her in victory."
