John Cantral died at the home of his son Charles in Nance County, Nebraska, Thursday, May 22, 1913, of Brights Disease. Mr. Cantral had been in poor health for some time. He was 80 years, 7 months, and 27 days old at the time of his death. The remains arrived in Villisca last Saturday evening and were taken to the Wolfe undertaking parlors for the night, and were then taken to the Holmes Chapel Church Sunday, where funeral services were held at half after one Sunday afternoon by Rev. Hosler of Grant. The interment was in the Memorial Cemetery.
The remains were accompanied by the son, Charles of Fullerton, Nebraska dn daughter, Mrs. Minnie Cathcarl of Oberlin, Kansas, Mrs. Florence Maybon, and Mrs. Bertha Sherman of Fullerton, Nebraska, Mrs. Frank Lawrence of near Strand, is also a daughter of the deceased.
Mr. Cantrall was for a number of years a resident in the vicinity of Morton Mills and went from here to Nebraska in 1907.

John H. Cantral was born in Sangamon county, Ill., October 1st, 1834 and died at the home of his son, Chas. Cantral, in Nance county, Nebr., May 23rd, 1913, aged 78 years, 8 months and 23 days. In 1870 the deceased came to Linn county, Ia., and two years later moved to Montgomery county, Ia., where he made his home for 34 years. In 1906 he came to Nebraska, where for the last seven years he has made his home with his children. He was united in marriage April 2nd, 1857 with Miss Ellen L. Stratton. To this union were born twelve children, two sons and two daughters of whom, with the mother, preceded the father in death. In August 1908 he was united in marriage to Mrs. C. Cantral, the widow of his deceased brother. Of the eight children living, Mesdames Clark Maybon and Thomas Sharman and Charles Cantral live in Nance County.
