Robert W. Lee, the oldest son of Robert Fitzhugh Lee & Harriet Elizabeth Smoot Lee (married and with a daughter), was drafted into the Army in 1945. Robert completed Basic Training at Ft. Rucker, Alabama. He served in the U. S. Army's Office of Military Intelligence. At the end of the war, Robert (with his wife and young daughter) moved to Maryland, where he lived and worked until his death in 1988.
