LULA GWINN
Lula Florence Benge was born to Barton and Celia Benge Dec. 4, 1886, near Lucas, Iowa, and passed away May 13, 1983 at the Memorial Hospital in Chariton at the age of 96 years, 5 months and 9 days.
She was united in marriage to Chasty C. Gwinn Oct. 12, 1903. To this union were born six children, one son and five daughters.
She is survived by one son, Lester Gwinn, of Humeston and four daughters, Florence D'Atillio, of Derby, Carmen Goben, of Woodburn, Gladys Williams and Myrtle Danner, of Lucas; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one daughter, Bessie Mundell.
She was converted under the ministry of S. M. Clark and was a member of the Goshen Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School Superintendent for several years.
She was a kind and loving wife and mother. Her religious faith came first and her hobbies were gardening and flowers.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 16, 1983 at 10:30 a.m., at the Fielding Funeral Home with the Rev. Silas Anderson officiating. Interment was in the Goshen Cemetery.
