Thomas Culbert of Fairgrove township, aged 69 years and 9 months and 28 days, departed this life Saturday morning at five o'clock and forty minutes, January 10th, 1903. He was born in Dublin, Ireland March 13, 1833, emigrated from that country at the age of 10 years to the province of Ontario, Canada at which place he joined in wedlock to Emiline Jane Sutton, December 19, 1854. To this union eleven sons and four daughters were born. He moved to this country with his family in the year 1880. His wife and three of their infant sons preceded him to their eternal Home to welcome him from his labors on this earth to that home above where all is joy and peace. He was a great sufferer in his last illness but bore with it in patience as he did in all things. He was a loving husband and affectionate father and the neighborhood has lost a good citizen, a true friend and neighbor. For the last seven years he has been a devoted reader of the Bible putting his trust in God and when the summons came he signified he was ready and willing to answer the call and believed all was well with him. The funeral of Thomas Culbert was held in the M. E. Church Monday and was officiated over by Rev. Nichols. The burial was made in Brookside Cemetery at Fairgrove.
