Annie was the middle daughter of three born to Joseph H. Shamlin and Louisa Armedia "Madie" (Calton) Shamlin. Her older sister is Donnie Almeda (Shamlin) Williams, her younger sister is Fannie A. Shamlin. Annie also had a younger brother, Joseph D. "Pete" Shamlin. According to her official death certificate, her precious life was ended due to Tuberculosis. The death certificate also states that she is buried in the Holley Cemetery in Prentiss County, MS; however, the exact location of her grave is unknown. (Note: After Joseph H. Shamlin died, "Madie" married Robert D. "Bob" Johnson. They had five children together: Jim Johnson, Julius Johnson, Lillian (Johnson) Gooch, Mae (Johnson) Pugh, and Homer Johnson.
