Raleigh Dale Prather, 75, former LaHarpe, Kansas, resident, died Thursday, March 3, 2011, at Homestead of Auburn Assisted Living in Auburn, Kansas.
Dale was born January 11, 1936, at Sulphur Springs, Arkansas, the son of Mose Alfred and Mary Marie (Harris) Prather. He moved to LaHarpe with his family where he grew up.
He married Patricia Swanson and they divorced later in life. He lived in the LaHarpe and Gas areas and worked a number of years as a lineman for the City of Iola Electrical Department. He also operated Prather's Tree Service for several years.
SURVIVORS:
1 Son: Ronnie Prather of Olmstead, Ohio
2 Daughters: Marsha Waldo of Topeka, KS and Barbara Annotico of North Royalton, Ohio
2 Brothers: Dave Prather of Meeker, CO and Earnest Prather of Dayton, OH
1 Sister: Bonnie Pennington of Chanute, KS
6 Grandchildren & 2 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Joe Prather, and by five sisters, Violet Sherwood Johnson, Darlene Paddock, Millie Chambers, Betty Prather and Louise Prather.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. Chaplain Lloyd W. Houk will officiate.
BURIAL: LaHarpe Cemetery, LaHarpe, KS
Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, is in charge of arrangements.
