He had twelve siblings. Seven brothers and five sisters.
Alfred's family came west to Missouri in 1842 when he was about eleven years old. They were in the Wayne-Bollinger County area for roughly eight years, when they then came to Greene County to settle in 1850.
Alfred married Louisa C. Wiggins on December 23, 1852 in Greene County, Missouri. This south east area of Greene soon became Webster County in 1855, then a south part of Webster County became Christian County in 1859.
Alfred and Louisa lived and farmed land in the area of Bruner, Christian County.
Alfred and Louisa had twelve children together.
Louisa passed away in 1875 and Alfred re-married to Sophronia Elizabeth (Hedgpeth) Johnson April 15, 1878 in Christian County, Missouri.
Alfred & Sophronia had one child together, his name was Leroy Green, born in 1879.
Alfred's death date and location are still unknown. He is last accounted for in the June 6, 1900 Census living in Deaton, Polk County, Texas. He is listed as a widower. His second wife Sophronia passed away in Christian County in 1883.
He is listed, as well as the families of five of his children. They all picked up and relocated from southern Missouri to Polk County, Texas in the late 1890's. They did not stay long, as all the children and their families are gone from Polk County shortly after. Alfred's grown children are listed in the 1910 Census living elsewhere, but he is not listed with any of them.
This area of Texas is pine forest, and at the turn of the century it was known for its lumber saw mills. Maybe this is why they went, to possibly find work? Did the Green family know people in Polk County? I am not sure.
I have never found any information on him after the June 1900 Census. He was 69 years old in 1900.
