Jean Cartwright
Jean Cartwright of Moody, formerly of Bertram, died Friday, Nov. 28 at the
age of 83. Funeral services were 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2 at First Baptist
Church of Moody, with Dr. Tom Shelton officiating. Interment followed in
Killeen Cemetery under the direction of Cole Funeral Home in McGregor.
Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1 at Cole Funeral Home. Mrs.
Cartwright was born Feb. 18, 1925, in Killeen, the daughter of the late
Samuel Thomas and Viola Dale (Watson) Browning, where she attended school.
Much of her working years were spent as a medication nurse with Bertram
Nursing Home for 20 years. She was also employed by Montgomery Ward as a
saleslady in Killeen. In 2001, she moved to Moody from Bertram and became a
member of First Baptist Church. Also preceding her in death were a son, Rick
McMahan; a grandson, Ricky Todd McMahan; two brothers, Thomas Browning and
Bennie Browning; and a sister, Hilda Huber. Survivors include two sons,
Bobby McLean and wife Paullettia of Moody, Mark Cartwright and wife Chasity
of Brownwood; a daughter, Marli Tolley and husband Keith of Richmond, Va.;
brother, Charles Browning of Fort Worth; sister, Bette Morosko of Conroe;
five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two
great-great-grandchildren.
