Fank W. Moorehead, 76, residing in South Bend, passed away at 3:56 a.m. Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

He was born January 21, 1933 in Battle Creek, Michigan, the son of Fred T. & Augusta (Morey) Moorehead, and has lived in South Bend since 1971.

On December 22, 1971 in South Bend, he was united in marriage to Norma Greene who has remained his companion for thirty-eight years. Also surviving is a sister, Mildred Shaffer of Fairfield, CA, and two brothers, Ernest (Beverly) Moorehead of Lake Panasoffkee, FL, and James (Nancy) Moorehead of Springfield, MI.

Mr. Moorehead retired from the Brick Layers Local #4, Indiana/Kentucky. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, and was a member of American Legion Post 303, River Park.

No services are planned. Cremation will take place at Southlawn Cremation Services. The Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend is assisting the Moorehead Family with arrangements.
