Miss Edith E. Chandler, 93, long-time school teacher in Hartford City schools, died at 9:50 a.m. May 12, 1979 at the Blackford County Hospital. She had left her home at 520 E. Water St., May 8, 1978 to be admitted to the hospital. Miss Chandler, a life-long resident of Blackford County, was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and of The Eastern Star. Born December 28, 1885, Miss Chandler was the daughter of Alvin Chandler and Clara Ann Rowe Chandler. She had never married. Survivors include her brother William E. Chandler of Oshkosh, Wisc. and one sister, Mrs. Marie Ketterman of route 1, Eaton, several nieces and nephews also survive. Calling hours at Keplinger Funeral Home will be after 3:30 p.m. Monday (today). Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday [May 15, 1979] with Rev. Lowell Townsend officiating. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Those desiring may make memorials to Grace Methodist Church or to the Heart Find..
