Barbara Gerhart, son of Johannes, son of Frederick, was born on 10 Oct 1791 in Pennsylvania (either N. Heidelberg township, Berks Co, or Cocalico township, Lancaster Co). She married Heinrich "Henry" Harnish, an inmate (farmer), in 1808 or before, based on baptismal records for Henry Borkhoeter (Burkholder), Swamp Lutheran Church, W. Cocalico township, Lancaster County. The family eventually moved from West Cocalico Township, Lancaster County to Jackson Township, Lebanon County. Henry and Barbara probably had the following children: Elizabeth (b.~1809); John (b.~1810); Jacob (1812-1871); Susanna (1813-1884) ; Katharine/Catharine (1815-1895) ; Eva (1817-1900); Lydia (1819-1896); Mary Barbara (1821-1900); Samuel (1825-1862); Leah (1826-1908); Christian (1833-1915); Sarah Ann (1835-1920). Barbara Gerhart Harnish died on 5 Jun 1852, probably in Jackson Township, Lebanon County, and according to records obtained at the Lebanon County Historical Society, was buried in Zoar Lutheran Church's graveyard, Mount Zion (north of Myerstown, Lebanon County).
