Laurine M. Desch, 77, Topeka, died Sunday, March 14, 1999, at a Topeka care home. She was born Aug. 26, 1921, in Topeka, to Laurence and Mary Stramel Ingenthron.

She graduated from Topeka Catholic High School in 1939. She spent many years in Topeka and a few years in Phoenix. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.

She married Vincent G. Desch on June 10, 1941, in Topeka. He died Sept. 4, 1977.

Survivors include a son, Jerome Desch, Topeka; daughters, Marikay White, Emporia, Juliann Desch, Henderson, Nev., and Margaret Archer, Topeka; brothers, Raymond J. Ingenthron and Harold H. Ingenthron, both in Topeka; eight grandchildren and a great-grandson.

Mrs. Desch was cremated. Memorial mass of Christian Burial will be at 7 p.m. today at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Inurnment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Phoenix. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis. Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
