Visiting Grave of Relative
Mrs. Mildred Liesche, 51, of 224 Cleveland Ave. yesterday morning was stricken with a fatal heart attack while visiting at the grave of a relative in Woodlawn Cemetery, Grant boulevard.
Mrs. Liesche had complained to her husband about pains in the heart. Shortly after, she collapsed on the ground.
Patrolman Robert Chaffee, called by the caretaker, gave artificial respiration. Patrolman Thomas Sardino also gave artificial respiration relieving Chaffee, until an ambulance arrived.
Mrs. Liesche was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital where a physician pronounced he[r] dead at 10:12 a.m. A coroner's physician said he would issue a certificate of death due to a heart attack. The body was released to the Frasier Funeral Home.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Liesche is survived by a son, Ernest F. Liesche; two daughters, the Misses Patricia Ann and Shirley Jean.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Frasier Funeral Home, 1217 N. Salina St., the Rev. Ralph Redman officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home.
