George Washington Howard died at his home in Ozark Friday at the age of 75. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in the Craffin Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Reg Mapes officiating. Burial was in the Shipman cemetery. Mr. Howard was born June 21, 1874, at Clarence, Missouri. In early life he moved from Clarence to Ozark and lived most of his life in and near here. In 1897 he married Vina Caudill. To them eight children were born, four of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, four children, Herbert and Sylvia Howard of Ozark, Perry of Bakersfield, Calif., and Velma Lassley of Fresno, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Marge Moore of Denver, Colo., two brothers, Charles of Sparta and Riley of Ozark, and by eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
