Rile Howard, 78, lifelong resident of Christian County, died Thursday at Burge-Protestant Hospital in Springfield after a lingering illness.
Mr. Howard is survived by his wife, Winnie, of the home in Ozark; a daughter, Lola Phelps, 2525 East Linwood, Springfield; a son, Alfred Howard, 3155 South Ferguson, Springfield; and three stepsons, Albert Klapp, San Francisco, Ned Klapp, of the home, and A.K. Klapp, 3124 South Ferguson, Springfield.
Funeral services were at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Adams-Monger Chapel here with Joe Deal officiating. Burial was in Highlandville Cemetery.
