On September 2, 1939 Carlos was united in marriage to Margaret Stella Helgeson at Madison, Wisconsin. Their children, all born in Madison, Wisconsin, were: Charlotte Marion, b. 5 Mar 1942; Roger Allen, b. Aug 1945; & Maureen Elizabeth Brown, b. 1 Jun 1953.
Carlos retired from Oscar Meyer in Madison where he had worked for many years.

Miss Marguerite Helgeson of Viroqua and Carlos Brown, son of Mr. and Mrs. George E. Brown of Milton, were married Saturday night, Sept. 2nd, in the parsonage of the First Methodist church, Madison, by the Rev. Mr. Frye. They were attended by Mr. and Mrs. George Bartlett of Madison.
Mrs. G. E. Brown, Sherrill Brown, June Brown and Jean Ellen Addie, mother, brother, sister and
niece of the groom, witnessed the ceremony.
Mr. Brown is employed by the Oscar Mayer packing company in Madison, and Mrs. Brown is a
pattern maker and fitter in a Madison dressmaking shop.
After a trio in northern Wisconsin, whey will reside at 724 E. Johnson street, Madison.

A double celebration
The family of Carlos and Margaret Brown will observe two anniversaries on the same day.
The Browns are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary, and their daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Kenneth Mock, are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary.
All friends and relatives are invited to honor both couples Aug. 13. An open house is planned from 2 to 5 p.m. in Lakeview Lutheran Church followed by a dance from 7 to 10 p.m. in the Sapphire Ballroom. The couples request no gifts.
Brown and the former Margaret Helgeson were married Sept. 2, 1939. Their children are Charlotte Mock, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Maureen Nelson and Roger, both of Madison. They have five grandchildren.

Madison/Milton - Carlos Brown, 87, died quietly at home on June 12, 1995 after a battle with cancer.
He was born April 17, 1908, in Vernon Co., to George Edson and Harriet Lutitia (Appleman) Brown. He grew up in the Milton area. He was married to Margaret Helgesen on Sept. 2, 1939 in Madison. He retired from Oscar Mayer in 1971.
He is survived by his wife Margaret, a son Robert (Jackie), Madison; two daughters, Charlotte (Ken) Mock, Colorado; Maureen (Dick) Nelson, Madison; five grandchildren: Kevin Mock, Colorado; Kenette (Michael) Babbitt, Colorado; Lisa (Dan) Beaty, Oconomowoc; Kim Brown, Stoughton; Brant Nelson, Madison; and three brothers: Vilas "Jack" (Edwina), Milton; Merritt (Regena), Janesville; and Don (Mildred), Milton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters: Iva, Madelia, Cretia and June; and eight brothers: Lowell, Jewel, Sherrill, Berlie, Forrest, Orlin, Nestor and Clawson.
Visitation will be at Lakeview Lutheran Church, 4001 Mandrake Road, Madison, today, Thursday, June 15, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with services to follow at 1 p.m. in the church. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens, Madison. [Published June 15, 1995, Milton Courier, Milton, Wisconsin.]
