Fred Maenke, Sr., a Wellington patriarch, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 1910, after an extended illness. The deceased was about 60 years old. The funeral was held from the Wellington Ger. Luth. church today, Thursday, Rev. Engel conducting the ceremony, next week's Standard will publish a more extended notice.

Fred Manecke, announcement of whose death was made in the Standard of last week, was born at Baddergen, Ger., April 25, 1851. He came to America in 1868, locating at Cincinnati, remaining until 1872, when he came to New Ulm. He moved to Wellington township a few years later and in 1878 he was united in marriage to Miss Annie Kiecker, the ceremony being performed in the Wellington Ger. Luth. church. The deceased passed away on Tuesday, March 22nd, 1910, after a lingering illness, and burial was made in the Wellington Ger. Luth. church Thursday, March 24th, the pastor, Rev. Engel, officiating. Besides the wife, six living children and 14 grandchildren are the immediate relatives left to mourn.
