BISCOE - James David "J.D." Asbill Sr., 82, of 512 Aileen Avenue died Monday, Feb. 21, 2005, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Biscoe Presbyterian Church in Biscoe, where he was a member, with the Rev. Anne R. Beach officiating. Interment will follow in Biscoe Cemetery.

Mr. Asbill was born in Biscoe to the late William Issac and Arie Vastine Leach Asbill. He was a retired supervisor with Spings Industries, Aileen Plant. He was a retired fireman with the Biscoe Volunteer Fire Department, a deacon in his church, and a member of the "Good 'ol Boys" in Biscoe.

Surviving are his wife, Lelia Blake Asbill of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Steve Deberry of Biscoe, Linda and Phil Patterson of Broadway; son and daughter-in-law, David and Paula Asbill of Biscoe; sisters, Colleen McIver of Biscoe, Ruth Morgan of Ether; brothers, Bill Asbill of Biscoe, Ralph Asbill of Laurinburg; grandchildren, Ryan Patterson, Aimee Auman, David Asbill III, Matthew Deberry, Emily Patterson, Jonathan Deberry and Paul Asbill; and great-grandchildren, Reece Patterson, Savana Johnson and Rylee Auman.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Phillips Funeral Home.
