BISCOE - William Clyde Asbill Sr., 87, of 401 Lambert Road, Biscoe, died Saturday, August 25, 2007, at Autumn Care of Biscoe.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Biscoe Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Anne R. Beach. Burial will be in the Biscoe Cemetery with military honors.

Mr. Asbill was a native of Montgomery County, and a U.S. Navy veteran serving during World War II. He served the citizens of the town of Biscoe and Montgomery County for 25 years as mayor and commissioner. Mr. Asbill was a member of Biscoe Presbyterian Church and a retired employee of Springs Inc.

He is survived by his wife Beatrice Brewer Asbill of Autumn Care, Biscoe; son William C. Asbill Jr. and wife Vickie of Trinity; daughters, Carol A. Epps and husband James of Biscoe, and Susan A. Freeman and husband Keith of Biscoe; sisters, Colleen McIver of Biscoe and Ruth Morgan of Ether; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends this evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home and other times at 413 S. Main Street, Biscoe.

Phillips Funeral Home is serving the family.
