Mrs. Delphia Mae Champ, 87, of Petersburg, died Sept. 2, at the Grant County Nursing Home, Petersburg, where she had resided since December 1999. Born May 30, 1915, in Grant County, she was the daughter of the late Miles Perry and Floda Mae (Flanagan) Kimble. She was also preceded in death by her stepmother, Cora Kimble. She is survived by three sons, James Champ of Estacada, Ore., Elmer Champ and George Champ, both of Petersburg; one daughter, Velma Kesner of Petersburg; four half sisters, Pauline Keplinger and Frances Crites, both of Petersburg, Rosalee Thorne of Dorcas and Wilma Lee Haggerty of Keyser; five half brothers, Carl Kimble of Lockport, N.Y., Roger Kimble of Fisher, Wilkie Kimble and Bob Kimble, both of Petersburg and Freddy Kimble of Moorefield; seven grandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren. Funeral services were Sept. 6, at the Schaeffer Funeral Home chapel, Petersburg, with interment in the South Branch Valley Memorial Gardens, Petersburg. (9/10) Grant County Press 2002
