Obituary:

Merle A. Pack, 79, of Route 4, Winfield, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 1990 at Good Samaritan village in Winfield.

Born at Cedar Vale on May 13, 1911, he was the son of Rufus F. and Bertha A. (Moore) Pack. After attending Cedar Vale schools, he married Lorena I. Wilkinson on Aug. 10, 1932, in Howard, Ks.

Pack worked as a miller for Winfield and Wichita mills for 23 years until he had an industrial accident in 1971.

He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include his wife, Lorena, of the home; his children, Aaron and Jeannette Pack, of Bella Vista, AR.; Nedra and David Musgrove of Winfield, Mary and Richard Bennett of Independence, Mo.; Bwana and Bob Drennan of Winfield; one brother, Kenneth Pack, of Cedar Vale; one sister, Doris West, of Phoenix, Az.; six grandchildren and two great –grandsons. He was preceded in death by one brother, Nolan Pack, and by one grandson, Bradley Musgrove.

Services for Merle A. Pack were held at 10 a.m. Sept. 29 at the First Assembly of God Church in Winfield. Pastors Ken Davidson and Aaron H. Pack officiated.

Musicians were Nedra Musgrove, organist; Bwanna Drennan, pianist, and Vern and Grace Wilkinson and the Pack family group, vocalists.

Casketbearers were Bruce Rahlf, Kevin Myers, Roland Hovey, J.B. Welch, Mike Walker and Karl Rhea Magnusson. Interment was in Highland Cemetery under the direction of Wheeler Funeral Home of Burden.
