Requiem mass was sung for William Chandler Joslyn, 83, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Gillette on Wednesday, October 20, with the Rev. Faather Charles Brady, celebrant.
Joslyn passed away at the Weston County Memorial hospital in Newcastle on Sunday, October 17. He had been ill health for some time.
Pallbearers were Robert Lawson of Linch; David Lawson of Newcastle; Donald Joslyn and Ronald Joslyn, both of Gillette; Allan Joslyn of Houston, TX, and James K. Joslyn of Newcastle, all grandsons. Burial was made in Mount Pisgah Cemetery, Gillette.
William Chandler Joslyn was born to A.G. and Josephine Joslyn on July 10, l883, at Bristol, Wisconsin. He spent his early life in eastern Nebraska and attended school in Cedar county, Nebraska. He was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Lyndon at Colridge, Nebraska, in 1906, and nine children were born to the union. He moved with his family to Gillette in 1930 where he continued to make his home.
His wife preceded him in death in 1926. In 1929, he was united in marriagae to Aldean Davis at Sioux City, Iowa.
Survivors are his four daughters, Mrs. Josephine Lawson of Newcastle; Mrs. Geraldine Reardon of Gillette; Mrs. Gertrude Lytle of Sundance and Mrs. Lois Ann Boulden of Newcastle; five sons, F.W. Joslyn of Greybull; Richard Joslyln and James V. Joslyn, both of Gillette; John J. Joslyn of Glenrock and H.C. Joslyn of Linch; 34 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
