EDNA GAINES
The sudden death of their daughter Edna, leaves deep grief in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gaines. Never a strong child, she was enjoying her usual health and talking much pleasure in rehearsing for the Christmas program at the Evangelical Church. Monday evening she was taken with a violent headache, but was better on Tuesday and able to be about as usual. As night came on she grew rapidly worse and passed away Wednesday at 1:30 PM
Edna Lilly Gaines was born in Clark Township on Jun 25, 1906. There she lived with her family until last October when she moved to Wells and intended to start to school after the holidays. Death was said to be caused by leakage of the heart.
Besides her parents, Edna leaves three brothers, Maynard, Clarence and Melvin and three sisters, Mildred, Evelyn and Marcella. Edna is said to have been a girl of a happy, loving disposition and her loss is deeply felt by her people.
The funeral was conducted at the Evangelical church on Saturday, Rev. Mittelstadt conducted the services. Interment was in Rosehill.
Mrs. Carl Schultz of Waseca, a grandmother of the deceased and Mrs. Agnes Conrad of Blue Earth, an aunt were here to attend the funeral.
