MAYNARD GAINES
Maynard H Gaines, 66, of Minneapolis, formerly of Wells, died Thursday, January 30, at his home of a heart attack.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 3 at the Washburn-McReavy Swanson Chapel in Minneapolis. Pastor Orrin H Eittreim of the Holy Triune Lutheran Church officiated at the 1 o'clock service. Interment was in the Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
Casket bearers were Steven Eliason, Tom Christianson, Tom Breitkreutz, Sal Sacks, all of Minneapolis, Gerald Culbertson, Le Sueur and Randal Culbertson of Wabasha.
Mr. Gaines was born May 10, 1908, in Wells, the son of Henry and Lydia Gaines. He attended school in Wells and moved to Minneapolis, where he was employed by Wilensky Auto Parts for thirty five years. He retired from Wilensky Company in 1973.
Survivors include his wife, Ila; one son, Lyle, two grandchildren; two sisters; Mrs Kenneth (Evelyn) Culbertson, Wells, and Mrs. Lester Culbertson, Wabasha; two brothers, Clarence, Oregon, and Kenneth, Texas; and many nieces, nephews and cousins all in the Wells area.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
