POOLER - Ms. Ruby Jewel Scruggs, 81, died Monday at Candler General Hospital after a long illness.
The Jefferson County native lived in Pooler for 71 years and was a member of Rothwell Baptist Church where she was a member of Bessie Milam Sunday school class. She was a retired employee of Union Camp Corporation after 25 years.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Earline Prothero of Pooler and Mrs. Uldine Lawson of Guyton; a brother Odell J. Scruggs of Bloomingdale; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral: 3 pm. Wednesday at Rothwell Baptist Church; burial in Guyton Cemetery.
