Niagara Falls - Catherine I. Nudo, 80, who lived in Niagara Falls until 2001, died Monday in Peoria, Ariz., after a lengthy bout with cancer.
Born Catherine Glatz in Henry, Ill., she graduated from high school in Peoria, Ill.
She then worked in Peoria at the Pere Marquette Hotel while living at the YWCA. She met Anthony Nudo while he was attending Bradley University in Peoria, and they were married in 1950.
They then moved to Niagara Falls, where they raised a family.
Mrs. Nudo was a member of Christ Gospel Church in Buffalo.
She moved to Arizona afer her husband died in early 2001 and recently belonged to Christ Gospel Church in Avondale, Ariz.
Survivors include a son, Robert J. of Tempe, Ariz; two daughters, Adrienne Scamara of Bloomington, Calif., and Sandra K. Crocker of Wilson; five brothers, Louis and Theodore Glatz, both of McHenry, Ill., Paul and Philip Glatz, both of Mundeline, Ill., and Joseph Glatz of Plano, Texas; a sister, Rita Furgye of Mundeline, Ill.; and a granddaughter. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the M.J. Colucci and Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road, Town of Niagara. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Lewiston.
