Thomas W. Hirth, Sr., a resident of Jefferson, Louisiana, died Monday, June 20, 2011 at Canon Hospice. Age 83. Son of the late John H. Hirth and Helen Louise Hammond Hirth. Husband of the late Dolores Rodrigue Hirth. Father of Thomas Hirth, Jr. (Susan), Cynthia Quintanilla (Luis), and Donna Cummins (Joseph). Also surviving are six grandchildren: Frankie, Dustin, Desiree, Michelle, Victoria, and Joey; three great grandchildren: Tyler, Ayden and David.

He was preceded in death by his brother, John Hirth, Jr.

Mr. Hirth retired from the U.S. Post Office after 33 years of dedicated work. He was past president of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, past president of the Jefferson Senior Center, member of Good Old Metairie Boys and the Golden Age Club.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 1:00PM. Interment will follow at All Saint's Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 11:00AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Share memories and condolences online at www.lakelawnmetairie.com
