Margaret Ellen Salyers Austin Terlikowski was born April 22, 1932, one of eleven children born to George Thomas Salyers and Sarah Kathryn Austin Salyers. Maggie's first husband was Howard Austin and her second husband was George Terlikowski.

Sarah married George Thomas Salyers on 10-06-1911 and from this union, they had 11 children: Martha Lucinda, John William "JW", Bessie Frances, Bill Thomas, Charlie Dolphus, Ibbie Victoria, Myrtle Anne, Effie Mae, Henry Ford, Robert Nathan, and Margaret "Maggie."

Maggie married Howard Cleveland Austin on November 8, 1948 in Lebanon, Va. He was 21 and she was 18 according to the marriage license. Maggie had four children from her marriage to Howard Austin:
Howard "Shorty" Austin, Jr. (Married Betty Darlene Hicks), Larry Wayne Austin (Married Karen Sue Ramsey), Brenda Austin Nelwyn Inghram Schlabac Webb and Belinda Sue Austin Hawk-Peltz.

Maggie was killed in a car accident in Dearborn, Michigan and her body was brought back to Russell County to be buried in the W. A. Austin Cemetery along side her parents and grand parents. She died in 1970 and her husband Howard had passed away in 1960.
