Louis G. Delsman, 77, a lifetime Manitowoc resident, died early Sunday morning
at the home of his son, Jule, of Miramar, Fla., where he had been making his
home since last October.
Funeral services will be at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at Mittnacht Funeral Home and
at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. James Craanen
will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Delsman was born Dec. 12, 1892, in Town of Kossuth, son of the late Louis
and Anna Bauman Delsman. He attended schools at Rockwood and Francis Creek and
Manitowoc Business College. He was shop foreman at Hamacheck Co. for many years.
Later he had been employed at Larson Chevrolet, Valders, and in recent years he
worked part time at Wickman Cycle Service, Manitowoc. He married Nina Pasewalk
in 1915. She preceded him in death in 1945. He then married Mrs. Ione Jacobsen
in 1948. She preceded him in death in 1968. Mr. Delsman was a member of the
Third and Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society.
Survivors include a son, Jule, of Florida; a daughter, Mrs. Donald J. (Dorothy)
Rehauer; four brothers, Joseph, of Rt. 1, Whitelaw, Quirin of Manitowoc, Albert,
of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Clarence of Milwaukee; a sister Mrs. Edwin Bleser,
of Manitowoc; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A daughter,
Catherine, three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday, where a prayer service
will be at 8 p.m. by the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society.
