Lester W. Hacker, age 75,of 1608 Clark St., Manitowoc, died early Monday
morning, July 12, 1999, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
A Memorial Service will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 1999,
at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service
will be Rev. Bruce McKenney and Rev. Robert Kujawski. Burial will be at
Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
He was born February 15, 1924, in Valders, son of the late Martin and
Alvina Sonnenburg Hacker. Lester graduated from Valders High School with
the class of 1942. He was a veteran of United States Navy, serving for
three years during World War II. On September 24, 1946, he married the
former Clara A. Yohanek, in Francis Creek. Lester was employed as a
welder with the Manitowoc Company for many years, retiring in 1986. He
enjoyed woodworking, bowling and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Clara Hacker, Manitowoc, one son and
daughter-in-law, Ron and Marge Hacker, Manitowoc; four daughters and
sons-in-law, Faye and Bud Rusch, Menasha, Sandra and Ed Denning,
Virginia Beach, Va., Janice and Ralph Brunner, Manitowoc, Debra and Todd
Lindsley, Green Bay; seven grandchildren, Kevin and Melissa Rusch,
Tanya, Tara, and Sean Hacker, Trish Denning, Susan Darrow;
brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lester Mittnacht, Manitowoc,
Elizabeth Shupita, Manitowoc, Emily (Gordon) BUrish, Menchanville,
Katherine Milbauer, Kellnersvile, Marian (Paul G. ) Mangin, Maple Grove,
Anne (Victor) Krummel, Menchalville, Mildred Hynek, Manitowoc, and Joe
Yohanek, Taus. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also
survive. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Bethany Ev. Lutheran
Church from 4 p.m. Wednesday until the time of service at 6 p.m.
He was a very special husband, father, and grandpa and will be missed by
all.
The Hacker family wishes to express their special thanks to the nursing
staff and physicians at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center for the
love, concern and care given to Lester and his family during his illness.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center is assisting the
family with funeral arrangements.
