WILLIAM H. MUELLER (d. 1938)

MARIBEL MAN FATALLY HURT IN CAR CRASH
William Mueller, 22, Dies Following Accident In Which Truck Leaves Road
William Mueller, about 23, son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Mueller, Maribel, was
fatally injured this morning when a truck he was driving hit an embankment
on County Trunk T two miles south of the Brown county line.
Mueller died about three hours after the accident at the St. Vincent’s hospital
in Green Bay. He suffered multiple fractures of the spine, internal injuries
and a brain concussion that resulted in a blood clot.
According to County Officer William Ladwig, Mueller, driving a truck owned by
Arthur W. Rabenhorst, Maribel, swerved to the left on the highway to avoid a
collision when attempting to pass a milk truck driven by William Petska,
Rosencrans, and his truck hit the embankment on the side of the road. The truck,
loaded with sand, was completely wrecked. Ladwig said Petska was about to pull
into a driveway when he heard Mueller’s truck approaching and swung to the right
side of the road. The trucks did not collide.
Mueller was dragged through the window of the truck cab by H.A. Bruss of Green
Bay, John Mueller, Clarence Schneider, Fred Kasten and Fred Mazanet, all of
Maribel.
Rabenhorst, owner of the truck, and Petska took the youth to the Green Bay hospital.
He never regained consciousness. The accident occurred at 10 a.m. as Mueller was
driving north on County Trunk T.
Funeral services were not available today.
