Mr. Crayne was born March 7, 1882, in Morgan Township, a son of Stephen and Margaret Cowan Crayne.
He was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, and was well-known as a retired farmer and stock raiser in the Waynesburg vicinity, where he resided all of his life. He was a former road supervisor in Franklin Township.
Mr. Crayne and his wife, Nettie Lippencott Crayne, who survives, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary November 25, 1961.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Leona, wife of Ottis Henderson of Sparks, Nev., and Lillian, wife of George Lippencott, of Waynesburg, R. D. 1; three sons, Paul A. Crayne, of Waynesburg, R. D. 2, Donald L. Crayne, of Baltimore, Md., and Herbert Crayne, of Waynesburg, R. D. 1; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Lawson Crayne, of Lippencott, and Robert Crayne, of Clarksville.
