Gedeon E. LaFave, 63, Died at 4:20 p.m in. Wednesday at Mercy General Hospital here; In failing health about six years, he had been a hospital patient on several admissions, the last a few hours before his death. The funeral was at 11 a. m. Saturday at St. Alphonsus Church and interment was in St. Alphonsus Cemetery here. He was born in Tupper Lake Jan. 31, 1009, the son of Bazil and Clementine Scanlon LaFave, and attended the local schools. On July 3, 1934, he was married at St. Paul's Church, Piercefield, to Miss Ruth Clark, who survives. They made their home for fourteen years in Buffalo, where he was employed as a material handler for Ford Motor Co. until his retirement on disability in 1967. Surviving, besides his wife, are one daughter, Mrs. Earl (Sally) Smith and one son, Gedeon Joseph LaFave, both of Canandaigua; two grandchildren, Mark and Susan Smith; his mother, Mrs. Clementine LaFave, Tupper Lake; three sisters, Mrs. Raymond (Lavina) Ashline, Mrs. Edward (Theresa) Bombard and Mrs. Lorraine Boyer, all of Tupper Luke: and three brothers: Harley and, Raymond LaFave of this village and Oliver LaFave of HarrisvijQe. Out-of-town friends and relatives who attended the funeral here Saturday included Mr, and Mrs. Floyd Belair, Mrs. Alida Hunt, Mrs. Donald Monica- and Mrs. James McFall. all' of Malone; Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Clark and Mr., and Mrs. Robert Vreatt of Buffalo; Kenneth Clark, Mrs. Harold Clark and Ronald Clark, all of Utica; Mrs. Calvin Clark and Dan Clark of Rome; Mr. and Mrs. Robert LaFave, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Young, Mr. and Mrs. James Young. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Roger LaFave, Mr. and Mrs. Harrisville; Donald LaFave of Syracuse and Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Vreatt of North Carolina.
