Kirksville weekly graphic September 13, 1929

W A McGee, father of Mrs M F Warren, of Kirksville, died at 5 o'clock Wednesday morning at the home of his son, Guy McGee, in Wilsontown, aged 74 years. Death was due to apoplexy. Mr McGee had been in Kirksville since Friday visiting his daughter and while here purchased a monument to be erected on the family lot where wife was buried last spring. He returned to the home of his son at Wilsontown Tuesday evening and soon after arriving complained of illness. A physician was called, but he became unconscious at 9 o'clock and remained in that condition until death came Wednesday morning.

He was married to Amy Moak February 6, 1875, and to this union eight children were born, seven of whom are living. They are: Mrs Vida Walker, of Eddyville, Ia, Mrs Myrtle Warren of Kirksville, Mrs Zora Howerton, Hurdland; Perry McGee, Montesano, Wash; Arthur and Guy McGee, LaPlata; Ivan McGee, Ottumwa, Ia. Funeral arrangements will not be completed until distant relatives are heard from but interment will be at Locust Hill cemetery beside his wife.

Former resident dead

W A McGee, age 73 years, of near LaPlatte, Mo, who moved from Lovilia in 1914, died at his home Sept 11, following an illness of several days.

He was the son of Joel and Margaret Garland McGee and was born in Monroe, County, Iowa. The greater part of his life was spent in this community.

Mr McGee was married to Amy Moak, who died last spring. Four sons, three daughters, one brother, one sister, and many other relatives survive.

Burial was made at Rose Hill, Mo, Friday.

C A McGee of Lovilia, a cousin, was at Rose Hill, attending the funeral.
