William James Cornell Sr., aged 73, 3357 Oakshire, a Berkley resident for 43 years, died this morning at St. Joseph's Mercy hospital, Pontiac after six months illness. Mr. Cornell was born Aug 5, 1880 in Sarina, Ontario. He was married May 17, 1905 in Manistique. His wife Laura Ann, is deceased. Surviving are eight children. Mrs. Byron (Louise) Green of Flint. Alfred, 2694 Kenmore, Berkely, Mrs. Thomas (Margaret) Kirby, 3643 Prairie, Berkley. Mrs. Richard (Frances) Synder of Kalamazoo, Mrs. Gordon (Bernadine) McEwen 3149 Phillips, Berkley, William J. Jr. 23431 Geneva, Oak Park, Lawrence 4211 Cummings, Berkley. John, at home, two brothers and two sisters, Mrs. F. Blisard of Manistique, Mrs. K. England and C. Cornell, both of Germfask, and G. Cornell of Marysville; 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Orin VanLoon Sr. of the Berkley Community church will conduct the funeral service at 1 p.m, Friday at the Sawyer funeral home, 2125 Twelve-Mile, Berkley. Burial will be at the Roseland Park Cemetery.
