Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock for Charley Neal Berzett, 55, who died early Thursday morning at his home following a short illness.

A native of Limestone County, Mr. Berzett lived in Athens until about 12 years ago when he moved to his farm about one mile out Browns Ferry Road. He was in the stock business for many years and also owned a meat market. After being in these lines for 32 years, he retired to his farm. He was well known throughout this area for his interest in live stock.

Services will be held at his late home with Dr. B. T. Waites officiating and interment will be in the City Cemetery, McConnell directing.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Berzett and seven children: Robert Neal Berzett, Courier printer, Thomas Berzett, now in the Army in the Pacific, Patty Berzett, Ed Berzett, who is now home on leave after being overseas, Dorothy Berzett, Mary Ellen Berzett and Jean Berzett; two brothers, Grady Berzett of Route 1 and William Berzett of Route 2; three sisters, Mrs. John Todd of Athens, Mary of Chattanooga, and Mrs. Harold Eddieman of Shelbyville, Tenn.

Pallbearers will be Claude Jones, Ed Evans, W. R. Hightower, Tom Smith, Herman Ulrich and Harold Sherbert.
