Funeral service for Mr. Coahron Arvin Young, 93, of Monroe, LA. will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 23, 2011, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterling Road, Monroe, LA. with Rev. E.R. Hurley and Rev. J.D. Ragsdale officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Young passed away on November 20, 2011 at his residence. He was a member of New Destiny Assembly of God. He was an Army veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Young was preceded in death by wife, Christeen Johns Young; six sisters, two brothers, and one great grandchild, and one great-great grandchild.
Survivors include his two daughters, Norma Benefield and husband Ralph of Monroe, LA.; and Barbara Shelton and husband Johnny of Zachary, LA; two sons, Arvin Young and wife Glendia of Zachary, LA.; and Gary Young and wife Peggy of Iowa, LA.; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Lamar Benefield, Raymond Benefield, Karl Benefield, Jeffrey Benefield, Shannon Shelton, and Kenny Young. Honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Shelton and Joey Williams.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
