Minonk -- Pearl S. Oltman, 92, died at 4:30 a.m. yesterday (Feb. 12, 1988) at Lida Home. She had been in failing health for several months.
Her funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Folkers-Froelich Memorial Home, the Rev. Ervin Buhs officiating. Burial will be in Minonk Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the memorial home.
She was born April 9, 1895, in Minonk, a daughter of William and Amanda Zinzer Newlon. She married John Oltman Jr. on Dec. 10, 1913, in Benson. He died Nov. 13, 1954.
Surviving are four sons, Granville J., Crete; Ray, Minonk; James, South Holland; and Robert, South Miami, Fla.; four daughters, Rachel Seggerman, Chenoa; Norma Newman, New Port Richey, Fla.; Fran Hupprich, Toluca; and Patricia Dalziel, New Lenox; 21 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by six brothers and five sisters.
Mrs. Oltman and her husband farmed for many years in the Benson area. They moved to Normal when they retired from farming in 1947.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Normal, and the Ladies Aid Society of that church. Prior to her marriage, she was an operator with the Benson Telephone Company.
