Mrs. Martha Koenig, 65, of 712 Forth St., Kiel, passed away Tuesday afternoon at the St. Nicholas Hospital of injuries suffered when struck by a car Sunday evening at a Kiel intersection.
Born in the town of Meeme on Nov. 20, 1886, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Phillipp, she attended Holy Trinity School at School Hill. She was married to Joseph Koenig of the town of Meeme on May 15, 1913, and the couple resided on a farm in that township. For the past year and a half she made her home in Kiel. She was a member of the Christian Mothers Society of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church of Kiel.
Her husband preceded her in death in 1946, and survivors are two daughters, Mrs. George (Lorina) Schwoerer of Kiel and Mrs. Walter (Manianna) Brandel of Sheboygan; a son, Raymond of the town of Meeme; six grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Kelley of Manitowoc; two brothers, Matthew and George of the town of Meeme.
Funeral services will be held Friday at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, the Rev. F. X. Kheil will officiate and burial will be made in St. Fidelis Cemetery at Spring Valley.
